Florin Barla

Florin Barla, PhD Director of Processing

As Director of Processing at Tyton Bio, Florin is solving real-world problems by implementing Tyton Bio technology at the lab- and pilot-scales. With expertise in chemical engineering, extraction techniques including super-subcritical fluid technology, and a hands-on approach to development, Florin is the lead operator of Tyton Bio’s proprietary digesters and associated water-based technologies.

Prior to Tyton Bio, Florin was plant manager of a 17.5 million gallon per year dairy facility. He also was an Assistant Professor of Food Science at Stefan cel Mare University (Romania). Florin earned his PhD in Applied Life Sciences from Osaka Prefecture University (Japan) and completed his post-doctoral training at Ishikawa University (Japan) and Old Dominion University (Virginia).
